The Hot Springs Mountain Tower offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the Arkansas Highlands from a breathtaking vantage point. Standing at 216 feet tall, the steel lattice tower provides panoramic views of Hot Springs National Park, the Ouachita Mountains, and the surrounding Diamond Lakes area. The tower is the third to occupy the summit of Hot Springs Mountain. In 1877, local mill owner Enoch Woolman erected a wooden observation tower, which was later destroyed by lightning. In 1906, Charles N. Rix, president of Arkansas National Bank, built a steel tower that stood until 1971. The current tower was constructed in 1983 and has become a beloved landmark. Visitors can reach the top of the tower via an elevator, making it accessible to people of all ages and abilities. The upper observation deck is open-air, providing an immersive experience with the surrounding environment. The lower observation deck is enclosed and air-conditioned and features exhibits on the park and local history. A gift shop is located at the base of the tower, offering souvenirs and refreshments.
