Getting There

  • Car

    From Geghard Monastery, exit the parking area and head southwest on the main road (M4). After approximately 4 km, you will reach the village of Garni. Continue straight, and as you approach the village, keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to the Ghegam Ridge. At the intersection near Garni, turn left onto the road leading to the Ghegam Ridge area. Follow this road for about 15 km until you reach the base of the ridge. Look for designated parking areas where you can leave your car.

  • Public Transportation

    From Geghard Monastery, walk to the nearest bus stop (approximately 10-15 minutes). You can take a minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Garni. The fare is usually around 300 AMD (Armenian Dram). After about 20 minutes, you will arrive at Garni. From Garni, you will need to find a local taxi or another minibus that goes towards the Ghegam Ridge area. Negotiate a fare with the taxi driver, which may cost around 2000-3000 AMD for a ride to the ridge base.
