Getting There

  • Car

    From Geghard Monastery, exit the monastery grounds and head southwest on the H21 road. Continue straight for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the H11 road. Turn left onto H11. After roughly 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Khor Virap Monastery on your right. Follow the signs and take the right turn onto a smaller road that leads directly to the monastery's parking area. Please note that parking is available near the entrance.

    To use public transportation, exit Geghard Monastery and walk to the nearest bus stop located on H21 road. Look for a bus heading towards Ararat or Pokr Vedi, which usually runs every 30 minutes. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you are going to Khor Virap. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. After you arrive at the stop for Khor Virap, walk a short distance to the entrance of the monastery. The bus fare is typically around 300 AMD.
