Public Transport
To reach Source Lake via public transport, take a marshrutka (minibus) from Yerevan to Aparan. Marshrutkas depart from the central bus station or designated stops throughout the city. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours, and the fare is approximately 500-700 AMD. From Aparan, hire a taxi to the lake, which takes around 30-40 minutes and costs approximately 2000-3000 AMD.
Car
If driving from Yerevan, head northwest on the M1 highway towards Ashtarak. Continue on M1 until you reach the turn-off for the H4 road towards Aragats. Follow the H4 road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the village of Aparan. From Aparan, follow the road leading to Mount Aragats and the signs towards the lake. Park in the designated area and walk the remaining distance to the lake. Note that the final approach may involve some unpaved roads.
Walking
From the parking area near Source Lake, the hike to the lake is approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes. The trail is well-marked but can be steep in sections, so wear appropriate footwear and bring water.
