Getting There

  • Car

    From Sisian Petroglyphs, head east on the main road (M2) towards Areni. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes covering about 30 kilometers. Follow the signs for Areni, and as you approach the village, turn left onto #6 Str. Continue until you reach the Areni-1 Cave parking area located at 46, #6 Str, Areni 3604. Parking is usually free.

  • Public Transportation

    Take a minibus (marshrutka) from Sisian to Areni. Minibuses depart from the central bus station in Sisian and the journey takes about 40 minutes. You should ask the driver to drop you off at Areni village. From there, walk approximately 1 kilometer to the Areni-1 Cave located at 46, #6 Str. Be prepared for a short uphill walk.
