Discover more about Mangel Halto beach

Mangel Halto, a hidden gem on Aruba's southeastern coast in Pos Chiquito, offers a tranquil escape from the island's more crowded beaches. This 600-meter stretch of coastline is divided into distinct areas featuring sugar-fine sand and lush vegetation, providing a picture-perfect Caribbean setting. The beach is embraced by a unique mangrove ecosystem, creating calm, shallow waters ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The offshore reef teems with diverse marine life, easily accessible by swimming from the beach. Snorkelers and divers can explore vibrant coral formations and encounter a variety of fish, including parrotfish, yellowtail snapper, and blue tangs. The reef plunges to depths of 110 feet, where octopi, morays, and barracuda can be spotted. For less experienced snorkelers, the bay area offers calmer waters and fascinating underwater views. Advanced snorkelers can venture outside the reef cuts, but should be aware of potentially strong currents. Mangel Halto also features a wooden sun deck and several staircases that lead directly into the water. Beach cabanas provide shade, and the nearby Mangel Halto Bar offers refreshments. To the north, the Spanish Lagoon extends for 1.5 kilometers into the mainland, adding to the area's natural beauty. Mangel Halto was designated as a marine reserve within the Marine Park Aruba in 2019.
