The trail consists of four main sections: the Wentworth Falls Track, the Undercliff Track, the Overcliff Track, and the Shortcut Track. Starting from either the Wentworth Falls Picnic Area or the Conservation Hut, the path meanders along cliff edges, providing numerous vantage points such as Jamison Lookout, Wentworth Falls Lookout, and Fletchers Lookout. The Undercliff Track is particularly captivating, as it winds beneath rock overhangs adorned with mosses and ferns. The Overcliff Track offers clear views of Sublime Point and Mount Solitary.
Along the way, hikers can explore short side trails to discover hidden gems like Den Fenella Lookout, a rainforest gully with cascades. The track also connects to the Valley of the Waters Trail and Empress Falls Trail, offering options for extending the adventure. In warmer months, wildflowers, including vibrant Christmas bells, add to the area's charm. Public Transport
From Wentworth Falls Train Station, the Overcliff-Undercliff Track can be accessed by bus or walking. The 685 bus route stops near the corner of Fletcher Street and Falls Road, about a 500m walk to the Wentworth Falls Picnic Area, where the track begins. Alternatively, it's approximately a 25-minute (2km) walk from the station to the picnic area via the scenic Darwins Walk. A single adult bus fare is around $2.24 AUD [N/A].
Driving
To reach the Overcliff-Undercliff Track by car, take the Great Western Highway to Wentworth Falls. Turn onto Falls Road at the traffic lights and follow it to the end. Then, turn onto Sir H Burrell Drive to reach the Wentworth Falls Picnic Area, where parking is available. Parking is free but can be limited on weekends. Street parking is available on Wilson Street as an alternative. There are no tolls on this route.
