Car
If you are driving, start from Katoomba and head south on Katoomba Street towards Bathurst Road. Turn left onto Bathurst Road and follow it until you reach the Great Western Highway (A32). Merge onto the highway and continue for about 7 km. Take the exit towards Scenic World / Echo Point, and merge onto Cliff Drive. Follow Cliff Drive until you reach the entrance to the Blue Mountains National Park. There is a parking area at the Golden Stairs trailhead. Note that parking fees may apply, so ensure you have some change or a credit card ready.

Public Transport
To reach the Ruined Castle walking track using public transport, catch a train from Sydney to Katoomba Station. Once you arrive at Katoomba, exit the station and walk to the bus stop located on Parke Street. Take the bus number 686 towards Echo Point. Get off at the stop for Scenic World. From there, you will need to walk to the Golden Stairs trailhead, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs towards the stairs and then continue towards Ruined Castle. Keep in mind that the bus fare may vary, so check the latest fares before your journey.

If you are already at Scenic World, you can walk to the Golden Stairs trailhead. From the main entrance, head towards the Scenic Railway and follow the signs to the Golden Stairs. The stairs lead down into the valley and will take you to the beginning of the Ruined Castle walking track. Please note that this is a steep walk, and you should wear appropriate footwear and bring water for the hike.
