Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. From Katoomba, proceed on the Great Western Highway (A32) towards Lithgow. After approximately 5 km, take the exit for Cliff Drive, and follow the signs for Reids Plateau Lookout. The lookout is located at the end of Reids Plateau Road. There is parking available on-site, but be sure to arrive early during peak tourist seasons as it can get busy.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a train from Sydney to Katoomba Station, which is part of the Blue Mountains Line. The journey typically takes about two hours. Once you arrive at Katoomba Station, you can catch bus number 686 towards Leura, which will take you to the stop nearest to Reids Plateau Lookout. After getting off the bus, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers along Reids Plateau Road to reach the lookout. Ensure you check the bus timetable ahead of your visit, as services may vary.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, there are various trails leading to Orphan Rock Lookout. From Katoomba, you can start your hike at Katoomba Falls. Follow the signs for the Prince Henry Cliff Walk, which offers stunning views along the way. The trail eventually leads you to Orphan Rock Lookout. This option is more time-consuming and requires good hiking shoes and plenty of water, but it allows you to experience the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains up close.
