Bus
From Dickson, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Dickson's main street (Dickson Road). Look for the bus stop labeled 'Dickson Shops'. Catch the ACTION bus route 80 or 81 towards the National Arboretum. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes, and you will need to disembark at the stop labeled 'National Arboretum'. The fare is around AUD 4.00 for a single trip. Make sure to have a MyWay card or coins ready for payment.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental stations in Dickson. Head towards the bike path that runs along the Northbourne Avenue. Follow this path for about 3 km, passing through the beautiful parklands. Once you reach the Arboretum, you can park your bike at the designated bike racks near the entrance. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow the cycling rules of the area.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, the National Arboretum Canberra is approximately a 45-minute walk from Dickson. Start by heading southwest on Dickson Road, then turn left onto Northbourne Avenue. Continue on Northbourne Avenue until you reach the intersection with Forest Drive. Turn right onto Forest Drive, and follow the signs to the Arboretum. This route takes you through some scenic areas and is an excellent way to enjoy the outdoors.
