If you are traveling by car from the High Country region, take the Hume Freeway (M31) towards Melbourne. After approximately 2 hours (150 km), take exit 8 for the Western Highway (A300) toward Ballarat. Continue on the Western Highway for about 30 km, then take the exit toward Ballarat. Follow the signs to the city center, and then head towards Gillies Street North. The Ballarat Tramway Museum is located at 100 Gillies St N, Lake Wendouree VIC 3350. There is free parking available near the museum.
