Discover more about Millionaire's Walk

Millionaire's Walk is a delightful and slightly cheeky name for a track that passes by a string of multi-million dollar properties. This cliff-top path provides stunning views of the bay as it winds its way through the backyards of some of Australia's richest homes. The walk is approximately 1.5km long and stretches from Point King Road in Portsea to Lentell Avenue. Along the walk, you'll see dazzling wrens, beautiful topiary, and wild plants – the landscape, flora, and fauna are simply stunning, not to mention the architecture of the mansions. Private jetties and sea baths are scattered throughout the coastline. The path is also of great historical significance as it bears the patch of land where the Union Jack was first raised to claim land in Australia. Acting Lieutenant John Murray, commander of the HMS Lady Nelson, took possession of Point King (later named Port Phillip Bay) in 1802. Millionaire's Walk makes up a small part of the Sorrento Portsea Artists' Trail, with four of the fourteen sites that comprise the trail located along Millionaire's Walk. Paintings by Sir Arthur Streeton, Arthur Boyd, and Ray Hodgkinson are displayed along the walk.
