Car
From Mount Field National Park, exit the park and head south on Gordon River Road. After approximately 20 kilometers, turn right onto the A10 highway (Hobart to Sorell) at the junction. Continue on the A10 for about 70 kilometers, following the signs for Port Arthur. Once you reach Port Arthur, follow the signs to the Port Arthur Historic Site, which will be on your left. The parking area is located near the Visitor Centre.

To reach Port Arthur from Mount Field National Park using public transportation, first, take a bus from the nearest bus stop to the park to the town of New Norfolk. From New Norfolk, catch a bus to Hobart. Once in Hobart, transfer to a bus heading towards Port Arthur. The bus service operates a few times a day, so check the schedule in advance. The bus will drop you off near the Visitor Centre of the Port Arthur Historic Site. Note that public transport may take longer and costs approximately $20-$30 AUD in total for the journey.
