Car
If you are driving, start from Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. Head northwest on the Brooker Highway (A10) for about 75 km. Follow signs for A10 and continue onto the Lyell Highway (A10). After approximately 30 km, turn left onto Lake St Clair Road. Drive for about 15 km until you reach the Lake St Clair National Park. There is a car park at the visitor center where you can leave your vehicle. Make sure to check for parking fees, which may vary.
Public Transport
To reach Narcissus Hut using public transport, take a bus from Hobart to Queenstown via the Tassielink bus service. The journey takes around 3.5 hours. Once in Queenstown, transfer to the bus heading to Lake St Clair, which will take around 1 hour. You will arrive at the Lake St Clair Visitor Center. From there, you can either walk to Narcissus Hut or arrange for a shuttle service that may operate in the area. Please check the local timetable for bus schedules and any associated costs.
Walking
From the Lake St Clair Visitor Center, you will need to hike approximately 3 km to reach Narcissus Hut. The trail is well-marked and takes you through scenic landscapes, including forested areas and along the shores of Lake St Clair. The walk should take about 1 hour, so make sure to wear suitable hiking shoes and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
