If you are starting from the center of Bregenz, head towards the Bregenz train station (Bahnhof Bregenz). From the station, take the exit towards the city center. Walk straight along Bahnhofstraße until you reach the Vorarlberger Landesmuseum, which is on your right. Continue walking straight until you reach the Lake Constance promenade (Seepromenade). Turn left and follow the promenade along the lake for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the border with Germany. Cross the border into Germany and continue walking until you reach the Lindau Island. Once on Lindau Island, follow the signs to Stiftsplatz. The Notre-Dame Cathedral is located at Stiftspl., 88131 Lindau, Germany, right at the center of the island.

From Bregenz, head to the nearest bus stop and take bus line 1 towards 'Lindau'. The bus will take you directly across the border to Lindau. Get off at the 'Lindau Hauptbahnhof' (main station).
