Start from the centre of Gries, head east towards Griesplatz. Continue straight to reach the intersection with Annenstraße. Turn right onto Annenstraße and follow it for about 400 meters. You will see the signs for Hauptplatz der Stadt Graz. When you reach the Hauptplatz, you will see the large square surrounded by historic buildings.

From Gries, walk to the nearest tram stop, which is likely to be at Griesplatz or Annenstraße. Board tram line 1 or 7 in the direction of Jakominiplatz. The journey takes approximately 5 minutes. Disembark at the Jakominiplatz stop. From there, it is a short walk (about 5 minutes) north to Hauptplatz der Stadt Graz. Just follow the signs towards Hauptplatz.
