From Hauptplatz, Graz's main square, walk north along Herrengasse, the main shopping street. Turn left onto Hofgasse and continue until you reach the entrance to the Graz Burg courtyard on your left. The Double Spiral Staircase is located within the courtyard. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes and is easily navigable. Orientation is aided by the presence of the Graz Cathedral and the Landhaus building nearby.

If arriving by tram, the closest stop is Jakominiplatz, a central transportation hub. From Jakominiplatz, take any tram heading towards Hauptplatz (one stop). From Hauptplatz, follow the walking directions above. A single tram fare within Zone 101 (which includes the city center) costs €3.20.

A taxi or ride-share from Jakominiplatz to the Burg should cost approximately €8-€12, depending on traffic. The journey time is around 5 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to the Burg on Hofgasse.

Parking in the immediate vicinity of the Burg is limited. The closest parking garage is Tiefgarage Burgring (Einspinnergasse 10), which charges €4.50 per hour, with a daily maximum of €45.00. From the parking garage, exit onto Burgring and walk a short distance to Hofgasse, then turn onto the street to reach the Burg entrance. Be aware that traffic in the old town can be congested.
