Take a regional train from Mürztal to Sankt Barbara im Mürztal. The train ride is approximately 15 minutes. Upon arriving at the Sankt Barbara im Mürztal station, exit and walk towards Hauptstraße. Take bus line 172 towards 'Wartberg im Mürztal' and get off at the 'Burgruinenweg' stop, which is about a 5-minute ride. Walk approximately 1 kilometer along Burgruinenweg to reach Ruine Lichtenegg. A single fare for the bus is around €2-3.

Walking

If you are in Sankt Barbara im Mürztal, you can walk to Ruine Lichtenegg. From the center of Sankt Barbara im Mürztal, head northwest towards Burgruinenweg. Follow Burgruinenweg uphill for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach Ruine Lichtenegg. The walk offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Car

If traveling by car, start from the center of Mürztal. Head southeast on Hauptstraße/B113 towards Sankt Barbara im Mürztal. After approximately 10 kilometers, turn left onto Burgruinenweg. Follow Burgruinenweg for about 1 kilometer until you reach Ruine Lichtenegg. There is free parking available near the ruins.
