Get off at the Mitterdorf im Mürztal Rittisstraße stop, which is a short walk to Schloss Pichl. A single fare on the bus is approximately €2-3.

Schloss Pichl, located in the serene municipality of St. Barbara im Mürztal, is a captivating landmark that embodies the rich history and architectural beauty of Austria. The castle's origins trace back to 1363 when it was a simple farm. In the 16th century, Georg Idungspeuger transformed it into the castle that stands today. Over the centuries, Schloss Pichl has seen many owners, including Leopold Freiherr von Herberstein and Johann Nepomuk Ritter von Kalchberg. In the mid-19th century, the Freiherren von Sessler-Herzinger carried out renovations. Today, the castle is owned by the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry and serves as a forestry training center. The U-shaped castle features four prominent corner towers with tented roofs. The red-and-white shutters add a distinctive touch to the exterior. Inside, a paneled hall with a field ceiling graces the ground floor, and the northeast tower once housed a chapel with a star-ribbed vault. The castle also has a spacious courtyard and park, which includes the Pilgerpark with its monumental Pilgerstuhl (Pilgrim's Chair). Schloss Pichl provides a unique atmosphere for various cultural events, including the Kunst- und Gartenzauber (Art and Garden Magic) and the Weihnachtliche Zauber (Christmas Magic).
