Getting There

• Walking

  From Jakominiplatz, Graz's central transportation hub, walk north towards Hauptplatz (main square). Continue north, following signs for the Schlossberg. From Schlossbergplatz, you can either ascend the Felsensteig steps directly to the Schlossberg lift entrance, or walk around to the Schlossberg lift entrance. The Schlossbergrutsche entrance is located within the Schlossberg lift area. Walking from Jakominiplatz takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Note that the walk up the Felsensteig is steep.

• Public Transport

  From Graz Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take tram line 1, 3, 6, 7, or 23 to Jakominiplatz. From there, follow the walking directions. Alternatively, take tram line 3 or 5 to the Schlossbergbahn stop. From there, it's a short walk to Schlossbergplatz and the Schlossberg lift. A single tram ticket costs €3 and is valid for one hour.

• Funicular & Lift

  From Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Kai, near the Kunsthaus Graz, take the Schlossbergbahn funicular up to the Schlossberg. From the upper funicular station, walk a short distance to the Schlossberg lift entrance. Alternatively, from Schlossbergplatz, take the Schlossberg lift directly to the top. The Schlossbergrutsche entrance is located within the Schlossberg lift area. A single ride on the Schlossbergbahn costs €3.20 for adults. A single ride on the Schlossberg lift costs €2.50 for adults.

• Taxi/Ride-Share

  From Graz Hauptbahnhof or Jakominiplatz, a taxi or ride-share to Schlossbergplatz will take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. The fare will likely range from €8-€15. From Schlossbergplatz, take the Schlossberg lift to access the Schlossbergrutsche.
