Walking
If you are starting from the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station and head towards the Mirabell Palace. This will take you through the Mirabell Gardens. Once you reach the gardens, walk straight towards the bridge over the Salzach River, called the Makartsteg. Cross the bridge, and you will find yourself on the right bank of the river. Continue walking straight until you reach the historic city center. From here, follow signs towards the Getreidegasse, one of Salzburg's most famous streets. Continue walking straight until you reach Herbert-von-Karajan-Platz, where Pferdeschwemme (Hofmarstallschwemme) is located.
