Walking
From Kapitelplatz in the Old Town, walk south on Herrengasse, then turn right onto Kaigasse. Continue onto Nonnbergstiege, a staircase leading directly to the abbey. Alternatively, from the city center, walk southeast towards the Salzach River, cross the Makartsteg bridge, and continue onto Nonnberggasse, following signs for Stift Nonnberg. The walk is uphill and takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
Public Transport
From Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take bus line 2 or 25 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Nonnberg' stop, a short walk from the abbey entrance. Alternatively, from Mirabellplatz, take bus line 25 directly to the 'Nonnberg' stop. A single bus fare costs approximately €1-2.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available throughout Salzburg. A taxi from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof to Stift Nonnberg costs approximately €6-7 and takes about 10 minutes. Be aware that parking near the abbey is limited and can be expensive.
