Getting There

• Metro

  If you're near a metro station, take line U2 (the purple line) towards Karlsplatz. Get off at the 'Karlsplatz' station. Once you exit the station, head towards the exit that leads to the 'Friedrichstraße' exit. From there, walk straight toward the Operngasse. Continue walking until you reach the Ringstraße, then turn left. Follow the Ringstraße for about 5 minutes until you reach Schillerplatz. The Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der bildenden Künste will be directly on your right at Schillerplatz 3.

• Tram

  Look for a tram stop nearby. You can take tram line 1 or 2. If you are on tram line 1, get off at the 'Karlsplatz' stop. If you are on tram line 2, get off at the 'Schottentor' stop. If you exit at Karlsplatz, head towards the Operngasse exit and walk to Ringstraße, then turn left and walk to Schillerplatz. If you exit at Schottentor, walk south towards Ringstraße, turn right, and then continue to Schillerplatz. The museum is located at Schillerplatz 3.

• Walking

  If you are close to the center of Vienna, you can walk to Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der bildenden Künste. From St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom), head west towards the Graben street. Continue onto Kohlmarkt and then to Michaelerplatz. From Michaelerplatz, head to Burggarten and then follow the path to the Ringstraße. Once you reach Ringstraße, turn right and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach Schillerplatz. The museum will be on your right at Schillerplatz 3.

• Bus

  Find a nearby bus stop and take bus line 2A or 3A. If you are on bus line 2A, get off at the 'Karlsplatz' stop. From there, head to the Ringstraße and turn left, walking for about 5 minutes until you reach Schillerplatz. If you are on line 3A, get off at 'Schottentor' and walk south to Ringstraße, then turn right and walk until you arrive at Schillerplatz.
