Continue to the junction with Kuenringerstraße and turn right. Follow Kuenringerstraße until you see signs for Aggstein Castle. Parking is available near the castle. Parking fees may apply.

    To reach Aggstein Castle via public transport, take a train to Krems an der Donau. From Krems Bahnhof, transfer to bus line 720 towards Aggstein. Get off at the 'Aggstein Nord' stop. From there, it's approximately a 15-minute walk uphill to the castle. Bus tickets can be purchased on board or at the Krems Bahnhof. A single bus fare will cost approximately €3-€11. Check the bus schedule beforehand, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.

    If you are in the vicinity, hiking trails lead to the castle from nearby towns such as Dürnstein and Aggsbach-Dorf. From Aggsbach Dorf, a hiking trail leads through the Herrenwald forest steeply uphill to the ruins of Aggstein, with a difference in altitude of just under 300 meters. The hike from Aggstein up to the Aggstein castle ruins takes about an hour. Ensure you wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring water and snacks, as the hike can take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
