Car Rental
From Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, drive north on the Southern Highway (Hummingbird Highway) for about 30 minutes until you reach the junction at the village of Dangriga. Turn left onto the Western Highway (Hwy 1) and continue for approximately 40 minutes. Look for signs indicating San Jose Succotz. When you reach the village, follow the signs to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. Note that parking is available at the base of the ruins, and there is an entrance fee of approximately $10 BZD per person.

Public Bus
From Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, you can take a local bus from the nearby town of Placencia or Dangriga to San Ignacio. The bus ride will take about 1-2 hours depending on your starting point. Once you arrive in San Ignacio, transfer to a local bus or a taxi heading to San Jose Succotz. The bus will drop you off at the foot of the ferry crossing to Xunantunich. The ferry ride is very short and costs approximately $1 BZD. After crossing, follow the walking path to the ruins, which is about a 10-15 minute walk uphill.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary to take you to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins. This option provides convenience, as the taxi driver will take you directly to the site. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and will cost you around $100-150 BZD, depending on your negotiation skills. Make sure to arrange for a return taxi as well.
