Getting There

  • Car

    From Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, take the road southeast to the Philip Goldson Highway (also known as Highway 54). Follow the signs to Belize City. Once you reach the highway, turn right (south) and continue for about 25 miles until you reach the junction with the Southern Highway. Here, turn left onto the Southern Highway (Mile 12). Continue for about 10 miles until you see signs for Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. The entrance is located on your left. There is a small entrance fee of around $10 USD per person.

  • Public Transportation

    From Crooked Tree, you can take a local bus or taxi to Belize City. The bus fare is approximately $5-10 BZD. Once in Belize City, you will need to take another bus to Dangriga, which costs about $12 BZD. From Dangriga, you can catch a taxi to Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary for around $30 BZD. Make sure to ask the taxi driver to take you to the sanctuary entrance at Mile 12 Southern Highway. Note that the last buses from Dangriga may leave in the late afternoon, so plan your trip accordingly.
