If you're traveling by car from any location within Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, begin by heading southeast on the main road. Continue on the Mountain Pine Ridge Road until you reach the junction with the Hummingbird Highway. Turn right onto the Hummingbird Highway (Hwy 1) towards Belmopan and San Ignacio. Drive approximately 10 miles until you see the sign for Seven Miles El Progresso. Take this exit and follow the signs to Barton Creek Cave Reserve. The reserve is approximately 3 miles down this road. Parking is available at the reserve entrance.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from San Ignacio to Seven Miles El Progresso. Buses leave frequently from the San Ignacio bus terminal. Once you arrive at Seven Miles El Progresso, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach the entrance of Barton Creek Cave Reserve. Make sure to ask the bus driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to the cave reserve. The bus fare is usually around 1-2 BZD.
