From Vaca Plateau, head towards the town of San Ignacio. Take the George Price Highway (Western Highway) heading west. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the turnoff for San Jose Succotz. Turn right onto the road leading to San Jose Succotz. Drive for about 7 km until you reach the town. Look for signs directing you to Xunantunich, which is located just across the river. Park your car at the designated parking area near the ferry terminal.

To reach Xunantunich from Vaca Plateau using public transport, you can catch a bus from Vaca Plateau to San Ignacio. Buses typically run every 30 minutes. Once in San Ignacio, take a local taxi or a shuttle to the San Jose Succotz ferry terminal. From there, you will need to take a hand-cranked ferry across the Mopan River (the ferry service is usually inexpensive, around $1 USD per person). After crossing, follow the signposted path uphill to the entrance of the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins.
