From the center of Bumthang, head north on the main street towards Jakar Dzong. After about 10-15 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection near the local market. Turn left and continue on this road which leads towards Trongsa. Follow the path for approximately 30 minutes until you reach a viewpoint overlooking the Trongsa Dzong. Continue down the path to the base of the dzong, which is located in the heart of Trongsa.
