Getting There

  • Car

    From Dagana town, head north on the main road towards Wangdue Phodrang. After approximately 45 km, you will reach the junction for the Royal Takin Preserve located in Motithang. Follow the signs indicating the direction to Motithang. The preserve is located at FJJ6+PH3. There is parking available on-site.

  • Public Transportation

    Start at the Dagana bus station and take a bus heading towards Thimphu or Wangdue Phodrang. Inform the bus driver that you want to stop at Motithang. The bus ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Motithang, you can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or hire a local taxi to reach the Royal Takin Preserve, which is located at FJJ6+PH3.
