Getting There

Walking
Start at the Mongar Dzong, which is centrally located in Mongar. From the dzong, head east on the main road (the Thimphu - Trashigang highway). After about 500 meters, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path which leads you uphill. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs pointing towards Chimi Lhakhang. Follow these signs as the path winds through the local landscape. After another 1 kilometer, you will arrive at a small village where you may find locals who can assist you with your final steps. The temple is situated at the top of a hill; you may need to climb a few stairs. Enjoy the scenic views as you make your way up!

Bicycle
If you're up for a bike ride, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Mongar town. Start from the Mongar Dzong and head east on the main road. After about 1 kilometer, take the left fork at the junction. Continue cycling for about 2 kilometers until you reach the base of the hill leading to Chimi Lhakhang. You can lock your bike here and proceed on foot to climb the last stretch to the temple. The path is steep but well-marked, and you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the surrounding valleys.
