The preserve is located approximately 15 km from the center of Sarpang. The route is well-marked, and you should expect a road trip of about 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as the roads can be rugged in certain areas.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Sarpang Town to Motithang. Buses run regularly and the fare is affordable, usually around 50-100 Ngultrum. Once you reach Motithang, you can hire a local taxi to take you to the Royal Takin Preserve. The taxi ride will cost approximately 200-300 Ngultrum. Make sure to check the bus timetable to plan your return journey.

If you are near Motithang and prefer walking, you can stroll to the Royal Takin Preserve. It is about a 30-minute walk from the center of Motithang.
