Getting There

  • Car

    From Sarpang, head north on the main road (Thimphu-Phuentsholing Highway). Continue driving for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the junction at Gedu. Take the left turn towards Wangdue Phodrang. After about 30 kilometers, you will come to a fork; take the right fork towards Athang Gewog. The entrance to Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park is located approximately 10 kilometers from this junction. There might be small fees for parking, so be prepared.

  • Public Transportation

    From the Sarpang bus station, take a bus heading towards Wangdue Phodrang. The journey will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Wangdue Phodrang, you can hire a taxi or take a local shared taxi to the junction for Athang Gewog, which is about a 30-minute drive. From the junction, you will need to walk or hire a local guide or vehicle to travel the final 10 kilometers to the park entrance.
