Getting There

• Car and Ferry

  To reach Lopes Mendes from major cities like Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, first drive to Angra dos Reis. From Rio, take BR-101 towards Angra dos Reis (about a 2.5-hour drive). Once in Angra dos Reis, head to the marina (Cais de Santa Luzia), where you can purchase a ferry ticket to Vila do Abraão, Ilha Grande. The ferry ride takes about 1 hour and costs approximately R$ 50-70. After arriving at Vila do Abraão, you will need to take a taxi boat to Lopes Mendes.

  If traveling from Rio de Janeiro, take a bus from the Novo Rio Bus Station to Angra dos Reis.
