Travel Guide to Praça Passeio Público

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near a metro station, head to the nearest station and take Line 2 (Green Line) towards Botafogo. Get off at the Cinelândia station. Once you exit the station, head towards the large square in front of the Municipal Theatre. From there, walk straight on Avenida Rio Branco until you reach the first traffic light. Cross the street and turn left onto Rua da Glória. Continue straight until you reach Praça Passeio Público on your right.

• Bus

  Look for a bus stop nearby and check the bus routes. Take bus number 379, 360, or 433, which will take you towards Lapa. Ask the bus driver to notify you when you reach Praça Passeio Público. Once you get off, you should see the square ahead as you walk towards the main entrance.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Lapa neighborhood, you can walk to Praça Passeio Público. Start at the Lapa Arches, a popular landmark. Head east on Rua da Lapa and continue until you reach Avenida Gomes Freire. Turn right and walk straight until you reach the square on your left. The walk is about 10-15 minutes, and you’ll enjoy the local architecture along the way.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app like Uber. Just provide the driver with the destination 'Praça Passeio Público, Lapa'. They will take you directly to the square. The ride should be quick if you are within the central part of the city.
