Located in the Campo Grande neighborhood of Salvador, the Teatro Castro Alves (TCA) stands as a beacon of cultural heritage and artistic excellence. Conceived during the developmental push by Governor Antônio Balbino, it honors Castro Alves, the "Poet of the Slaves". A tragic fire destroyed the original structure just days before its scheduled inauguration in July 1958. This delayed the opening and led to architectural redesigns, including the addition of iconic pillars. The theater was finally inaugurated on March 4, 1967.Throughout the years, the TCA has been a stage for intense cultural movements, hosting performances by groundbreaking artists such as Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso during Brazil's transformative 1970s.
