The Museu Casa do Rio Vermelho, also known as the Casa de Jorge Amado, is a captivating museum located in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood of Salvador, Bahia. Notable figures such as Glauber Rocha, Pablo Neruda, Tom Jobim, Dorival Caymmi, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Simone de Beauvoir were frequent visitors. It was within these walls that Jorge Amado penned some of his most famous works, including "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands" and "Quincas Berro D'Água". Zélia Gattai, in turn, wrote "Casa do Rio Vermelho," a memoir recounting their life together in the house. The museum offers visitors a unique immersion into the couple's world, with original furnishings, personal objects, and a rich collection of art. The house is divided into different spaces, each with its own theme, and features over 30 hours of videos, projections, and audio recordings about the lives and works of the artists.
