Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from any location in Zona da Mata, start by taking the BR-040 highway towards Rio de Janeiro. Follow the signs for São Paulo. Once you reach São Paulo, take the exit toward Avenida dos Bandeirantes. Continue on Avenida dos Bandeirantes until you reach the exit for Avenida Miguel Estefano. Merge onto Avenida Miguel Estefano and continue for approximately 3 kilometers. The Zoológico de São Paulo will be on your right at Av. Miguel Estefano, 4241 - Água Funda. There is parking available at the zoo, but be prepared for parking fees which can vary. Ensure you check the latest parking rates upon arrival.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Zoológico de São Paulo using public transport, start by taking a bus from your location in Zona da Mata to the nearest metropolitan bus station. You may want to use the local app or website to find the best route. Once you are at a major bus terminal, take a bus heading towards São Paulo. Look for lines that go to the Água Funda area. Upon arriving in Água Funda, you can walk or take a short taxi ride to Av. Miguel Estefano, 4241. The zoo is well-signposted in the local area, so it should be easy to find. Be sure to have some cash for bus fares, which are typically around R$4.50.

• Combination (Car to Public Transport)

  If you prefer a combination of car and public transport, you can drive to a nearby metro station such as São Judas or Conceição on the São Paulo Metro system. Park your car at the station's parking lot (note that there may be a fee for parking). From there, take the metro towards the São Paulo city center.
