The Holy Cross Armenian Church, known locally as Surp Hach, is located in the city center of Burgas, Bulgaria. This Armenian Apostolic church, built in 1853, holds a special place in the city's history. It was constructed on the site of a former wooden chapel dedicated to Saint Stepanos, which dated back to 1673. The church is a one-nave structure, showcasing typical Armenian architectural features. A stone belfry, added in 1958, bears an inscription commemorating its construction during the time of Catholicos Vazgen I.The church serves not only as a place of worship but also as a monument to the Armenian community's history and resilience in the region. In 1878, a thanksgiving prayer for Bulgaria's liberation from Ottoman rule was held here, attended by Major General Alexander Mikhailovich Lermontov, commander of the Russian troops in Burgas. The church is near the Municipal Hall, behind Hotel Bulgaria.
