The Dolphinarium Varna is a unique attraction, located in the northern part of Varna's Sea Garden (Primorski Park), offering a wonderful view of the sea. Opened on August 11, 1984, it quickly became a symbol of Varna and a landmark of Bulgarian tourism. The Dolphinarium is a permanent fixture on the itinerary of Black Sea coast visitors. The building itself impresses with its futuristic design, a glass-and-aluminum structure designed by architect Simeon Saraliev. Inside, a team of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) – Kimbo, Doli, Popi, Yoana and Bimbo – showcase their incredible skills in shows that blend acrobatics, synchronized dances, music, and balancing acts. The main pool, with a seating capacity of 1200, is the stage for these captivating performances. The dolphin shows are a highlight, featuring high jumps, double flips, singing, rock and roll dances, and even triple axel jumps. The dolphins demonstrate how they rescue people, participate in team sports, and play ball with the audience. For a more relaxed experience, visitors can observe the dolphins through the panoramic windows of the on-site cafe. The Dolphinarium is actively involved in the protection of Black Sea dolphins. It provides excellent conditions and professional care, leading to successful dolphin births in the artificial environment.
