Walking
From the center of Borovets, head east on the road towards the Rila Monastery. Follow the signs for the Hiking Trail to the Black Rock. The trailhead is approximately a 30-minute walk from the Borovets bus station. The path starts from a parking area on the right side of the road. An information board with a map marks the beginning of the trail. Follow the dirt road, keeping generally to the left at any branches.

From anywhere in Borovets, a taxi to the trailhead of the Hiking Trail to the Black Rock typically costs between 15-20 BGN. Ask the driver to take you to the parking area at the start of the trail on the road towards Rila Monastery. From there, follow the marked path to the Black Rock.

Take the free shuttle bus in Borovets to the main ski lifts. From there, walk east towards the road to Rila Monastery. Alternatively, buses connect Borovets with the neighboring town of Samokov. From Samokov, you can reach Sofia. From the bus stop in Borovets, it is about a 30-minute walk to the trailhead.
