Once you arrive at the Madara bus stop, exit the bus and you will see a sign directing you to the fortress. Follow the signs, which will lead you on a short walk uphill to the entrance of Madara Fortress.

If you prefer to walk, start from the center of Shumen and head east towards the outskirts of the city. Follow the main road (bul. 'Slavyanski') until you reach the intersection with 'ul. 8-mi Mart.' Turn left on 'ul. 8-mi Mart' and continue straight until you reach the outskirts. From there, follow the signs for Madara Fortress, which is about 7 kilometers away. The walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and the route is mostly flat until you get closer to the fortress, where it becomes a steep climb.
