    From Bujumbura, take a local bus or minivan towards Rumonge. Once in Rumonge, board another bus heading towards R.N.3 and ask the driver to stop at Kigwena Forest Nature Reserve. The reserve is located along the main road (R.N.3). Expect to pay around BIF 1,000-2,000 for the bus fare from Rumonge. Be prepared to pay a small entrance fee upon arrival.

    From Rumonge, a taxi or motorcycle taxi (moto-taxi) can take you directly to Kigwena Forest Nature Reserve. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
