History of Cankuzo

Before the arrival of European colonizers, Cankuzo was inhabited by various ethnic groups, including the Hutu, Tutsi, and Twa. The region was characterized by a decentralized system of governance, with local chiefs and clans playing a significant role in the social and political organization.
