Walking
From the center of Sal Rei, head south towards the main road (Rua de Olho de Água). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua da Liberdade. Turn left onto Rua da Liberdade and walk until you reach the beach area. Follow the pathway along the beach until you see the signs for Santa Maria Beach. It's approximately a 30-minute walk, and you will enjoy beautiful ocean views along the way.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from various shops in Sal Rei. Start at the town center and cycle down Rua de Olho de Água, taking a left at Rua da Liberdade. Continue cycling straight towards the coast. The ride to Santa Maria Beach should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed. Enjoy the fresh air and scenic views as you ride along the coastal path.
Public Transport (Minibus)
Look for a local minibus heading to Santa Maria. These minibuses usually leave from the main square in Sal Rei. Ask the driver to drop you off at Santa Maria Beach. The journey takes roughly 20-25 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to Praia António Sousa, which is the main beach area in Santa Maria.
