    Getting There

    Walking

    If you're starting from the Big Sur River Inn, head west on CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway) towards the ocean. Walk approximately 1.5 miles (about 30 minutes). You'll pass by the Big Sur Post Office and several local shops. Keep an eye out for the iconic Big Sur landscape as you walk. When you reach 49664 CA-1, you'll find the Seal Beach Overlook on the left side of the road. It's a scenic spot with stunning ocean views.

    Biking

    Starting from the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, exit the park and head south on CA-1. The distance is about 3 miles (approximately 15 minutes of biking). The road has some elevation changes, but the views are worthwhile. As you approach 49664 CA-1, look for the Seal Beach Overlook on your right. Make sure to bike safely and use the bike lane where available.

    Hiking

    If you are feeling adventurous and want to hike, you can take the Tanbark Trail from the Big Sur Valley. This trail connects to the CA-1. Hike approximately 2 miles to reach the highway. Once you reach CA-1, turn right and walk another 0.5 miles to the Seal Beach Overlook. Enjoy the beautiful trail views before you arrive at the overlook. Remember to bring plenty of water and wear appropriate hiking shoes.
