From anywhere in Chula Vista, find the nearest bus stop for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (SDMTS). You can take the Route 701 or Route 704 towards San Diego. If you are starting from the Chula Vista Center, catch the Route 701 at the bus stop located on Broadway Ave. and head towards the 'America Plaza' station. Once you arrive at America Plaza, transfer to the 'Green Line' trolley towards Santee. Get off at the 'Old Town' station. From Old Town, you can catch the Route 35 bus towards Shelter Island, which will take you directly to Shelter Island Drive. Get off at the nearest stop to 2720 Shelter Island Dr, and walk a short distance to Sail San Diego.

Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Chula Vista. From the Chula Vista Marina, head northwest on Marina Parkway. Continue onto the Bayshore Bikeway for scenic views along the bay. Follow the pathway north towards San Diego. After approximately 8 miles, you will reach Shelter Island Drive. Turn left onto Shelter Island Drive, and Sail San Diego will be on your right at 2720 Shelter Island Dr.

If you are staying at a hotel in Chula Vista, such as the Best Western Plus or the Holiday Inn, you can walk to Sail San Diego. Start by heading west on E St toward the bay. Continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the Marina View Park. From there, follow the path north until you reach Shelter Island Drive. Once you reach Shelter Island Drive, walk along the road until you see Sail San Diego at 2720 Shelter Island Dr, which will be a short distance away.
