If you're starting from within the Colorado Desert, the most straightforward route to Lake Mead National Recreation Area is by car. For example, if you are near the city of Palm Springs, take I-10 E toward Blythe. Merge onto CA-62 E toward 29 Palms. Follow CA-62 until you reach the junction with CA-95 N. Continue on CA-95 N until you reach the junction with I-40 E. Merge onto I-40 E and continue until you reach Exit 48 for US-93 N toward Las Vegas. Follow US-93 N for about 50 miles, then take the exit toward Boulder City. Continue on Lakeshore Road for about 10 miles to reach the entrance of the park at 10 Lakeshore Rd, Boulder City, NV 89005. Be aware that there may be entrance fees to the park, which typically cost around $25 per vehicle for a seven-day pass.
