A Tribute to a Jedi Master: The Yoda Fountain

Getting There

• Walking

  From the main entrance of Muir Woods National Monument, follow the main trail that leads you through the stunning redwood forest. Ensure you have a park map. Walk along the Muir Woods Trail for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the Ben Johnson Trail. Continue to follow the signs pointing towards the Muir Woods Visitor Center, which is approximately another 0.5 miles away. Once at the Visitor Center, you will need to take a bus or shuttle to the Presidio of San Francisco, as Yoda Fountain is located there.

• Bus/Shuttle

  At the Muir Woods Visitor Center, board the shuttle that takes you to the Presidio. The shuttle service runs regularly, and you can check the schedule at the Visitor Center. The fare for the shuttle is typically around $3 to $5 per person, and it’s advisable to have exact change. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes.

• Walking

  Upon arriving at the Presidio, disembark at the nearest stop and follow the signs to Yoda Fountain. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from the shuttle drop-off point. Head towards Letterman Drive, and you will find the fountain located at 1 Letterman Dr, San Francisco, CA 94129. Look for the iconic Lucasfilm building, and the fountain is just a short walk nearby.
