Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets, head east on Five Cities Dr toward Oak Park Blvd. Turn right onto Oak Park Blvd, then turn left onto Rancho Pismo Dr. The park will be on your left. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take about 30 minutes. There are no costs associated with walking.

  • Public Transport

    From downtown Pismo Beach, take the SLO Transit Route 24 towards the Pismo Beach Outlets. Get off at the Oak Park Blvd @ Price Canyon Rd stop. From there, walk north on Oak Park Blvd, then turn left onto Rancho Pismo Dr. The park will be on your left. The walk from the bus stop is approximately 0.4 miles and should take about 8 minutes. A single ride on SLO Transit is $1.75.

  • Driving

    From Highway 101, take the Price Canyon Road exit. Head east on Price Canyon Road, then turn right onto Oak Park Blvd. Turn left onto Rancho Pismo Dr. The park will be on your left. Parking is available at the park. Parking is free.

Price Historical Park is a 7-acre park that tells the story of John Michael Price, the founder of Pismo Beach. Originally known as Juan Miguel Prais, he was a vaquero who ran cattle on Rancho Pismo. As California transitioned to American statehood, he adopted his English name and established Rancho del Pizmo. A visit to the park is a step back in time, showcasing the Price Anniversary House, built in 1893, and the Meherin House, moved to the park in 2001. Explore a replica Chumash Indian village, remnants of the original Pismo settlement, and wander along trails that were once part of the historic Portola, Anza, and El Camino Real trails. The park also features a windmill, orchard, and a garden displaying old farm implements. The park offers docent-guided tours of the Price Anniversary House, providing insights into the life of John Price and the history of Pismo Beach. The park is also designated by the National Park Service as part of the Anza Trail.
